An Outdoor Wedding always needs a PLAN B !

Choosing a venue that offers you a beautiful indoor possibility should the weather not allow your outdoor wedding to go ahead is tremendously important, especially at this time of year with summer well and truly over.

The Miramare Gardens, at Terrey Hills on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, offered just that, when I married Angie and Aeron there recently.

Angie and Aeron had planned on being married in the outdoor Gazebo of the beautiful Miramare Gardens, but with strong gusty winds the night before they decided to go with their plan B, and hold the ceremony indoors.

For the ceremony a large raised platform had been set up in front of the ceiling to floor wall of windows facing on to the gardens, seemingly bringing the gardens into the room. The platform was beautifully covered in white cotton with a pleated skirt around the sides. There were three steps up to the raised platform allowing the bridesmaids and groomsmen to stand on the sides of the steps, ensuring the bride and groom were easily visible to all their guests.

It was a beautiful and impressive setting, and even through it was a Plan B, no bride and groom could have been disappointed with it.

On arrival, the guests mingled on the spacious 1st floor level, and once the bride arrived at the venue, were then ushered downstairs to where the ceremony was to take place. The groom and the groomsmen then made their entrance down the magnificent staircase to the applause of the guests, taking their places and awaiting the entrance of the bridesmaids and the bride.

The bride and bridesmaids were cleverly protected on arrival from the sight of the guests, until they were ready to walk down the staircase into the ceremony, with music being played by both a pianist and guitarist at the top of the stairs. The bridesmaids looked fantastic, their empire style dresses were long and soft, the colour of Coffee Latté, with an exquisite lace bodice setoff with diamanté drop earrings and necklace, carrying bouquets of dusky pink roses.

Then came the bride on the arm of her father, and the OH’s were immediately audible when Angie started walking down the majestic staircase, as she looked like a fairy tale princess, an absolute vision of loveliness. Her wedding gown was scattered with diamantes, and the full soft skirt fell perfectly into a beautiful soft detailed train. This image of loveliness was further enhanced by a veil, which was romantically lifted off her face by the groom, who kissed her on the cheek, before they walked together up the three steps to the raised platform to start the ceremony.

It was a beautiful ceremony for a beautiful couple at a fantastic venue with wedding co-ordinators who are not only professional but truly care that everything is perfect for the bride and groom on their Wedding Day.

Wow! Always being surrounded by love and happiness, is it any wonder that I just love my work as a Wedding Celebrant? !!!!
